Dr Li Kuo Kong’s career has spanned multiple disciplines. After attending the prestigious North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, he investigated the role of antigen presentation on the performance of cytotoxic T cells with the immunologist, Dr Michael Edidin, at Johns Hopkins University. During residency, he was involved in clinical research at Duke University with Staphylococcal endocarditis and the utility of trans-esophageal cardiac echos. After his fellowship training at Stanford University, Dr Kong returned to the basic science lab to work on hepatitis C viral protein regulation with Dr Peter Sarnow. Dr Kong joined Diablo Infectious Diseases in 2004. Today, he enjoys working with a broad patient population in General Infectious Diseases and has a particular interest in safe medication processes within the hospital.
